Buta Dalma



Butadalma..Dalma,the staple food of Odisha. Full of Nutrition,power packed one pot dish made up of a variety of lentils , which  give the daily dose of protein and  loaded with variety of veggies  giving ample vitamins and minerals.
So here's the recipe 😊 
Ingredients:-
 Buta daal (channa daal) - 1 cup
 Pumpkin  -  1 cup (cut in cube shape)
Potato - 1 cup (cut in cube shape)
Raw Papaya - 1 cup  (cut in cube shape)
Cauliflower florets- 1 cup
Ginger grated -1 inch
Onion - 1chopped
Tomato -1chopped
Pancha putona - 1 tsp
Dry chillies - 2/3
Roasted cumin and dry chilli powder -1 tap
Turmeric powder - 1tsp
Bayleaves- 1
Ghee/ oil - 1 tbsp
Chopped coriander to garnish
Salt to taste
Method:-
1.Cut all the vegetables in cube shape
2.Pressure cook the Chanadal and vegetables ( except the cauliflower)with turmeric,bayleaves and salt, don't over cook it. 
3. Stir fry the cauliflower florets with little bit salt and turmeric and keep aside.
3.Heat ghee in a pan, add panch potona and dry chilis. When it starts to splutter, add grated ginger  and chopped onions.
 4.Add chopped tomatoes and cook till done. Now add the cauliflower and cover it till it done.
5.Add the boiled dal to the above masala  and simmer for few minutes. Sprinkle the roasted cumin and red chilli  powder and chopped coriander leaves. 
6.Serve it with Rice/ Phulkas/ Puri.
