Phulakobi maccha tarkari

Phulakobi maccha tarkari.. few days back made them for our lunch .At that time what i remembered that I had only three pieces of Rohu fish steaks with me, and I was not in a mood to make anything else except fish curry . And i know also those three pieces never be enough for us , So to increase the quantity of curry , I add some cauliflower(phulakobi )florets into that ... Ta da..The Phulakobi maccha tarkari was ready. So here is the recipe :-

Method:-
  • Clean the fish and pat dry.Marinate the fish with Turmeric and Salt.properly mix the turmeric and salt with the fish evenly so that it coats well.Cut potatoes into medium wedges.
  • Prepare a smooth paste of Onion, Ginger, Garlic , cumin seeds & dry red chilly. grind the tomatoes into a puree. keep aside.
  • In a wide bottomed vessel or kadhai, put Mustard Oil and let it heat . Shallow fry the marinated fish one by one till it’s golden brown from both the sides.Once all fishes are fried properly, keep aside.
  • In the same oil, lightly fry the cauliflower florets for 5 mins, Set aside. Again fry the potatoes till golden brown .Once the potatoes are cooked, put little bit more oil into the kadai if needed.In the oil, add the smooth Paste and cook till the rawness of is gone and it smells cooked.Add the Chili powder and Turmeric powder and cook it for more 2 mins.
  • After the masala is properly cooked and smell of raw ingredients are gone, add the tomato puree and cook for 2-3 mins till the oil come out from sides.
  • Add the cauliflower florets and potatoes. Mix well and cook covered in medium flame for 10 mins or till vegetables cook halfway to the masala. Add the salt according to the taste, you have to be very cautious while adding salt as the salt was initially added in the fish.Add 2/3 cups of water, and bring the potato and gravy to a boil.After the gravy is properly cooked n potatoes are soften, add the fried fish pieces and cook for 1-2 mins.Switch off the heat and Serve the spicy gravy with plain rice.
