କଦଳୀ ମଞ୍ଜା ପତ୍ରପୋଡା/ Banana stem Pattrapoda.. Banana stem, is such a super vegetable which we  must  include in our diet to get our  daily fibre. The interesting thing about  this is, it's local and  easily available and an  inexpensive  ingredient. Actually the banana stem , is a collection of leaf stalks which is full of fibre and when the outer shiny layers are pulled off, the inner part is edible. One can use this stem in various recipes, this time I make Pattrapoda with this. I m sure every Indian grandmother have their own way to cook this super ingredients..
Pattrapoda is another fascinating form of cooking in Odia cuisine.. Vegetables / fish/ Chicken/ prawn coated in spices n mustard paste with mustard oil then wrapped in banana/ arbi/Shala leaves and cooked in slow flame. Traditionally it's cooked in earthen chula while the fire is almost gone only the heat is there. The key of this recipe is exact amount of blended spices and mustard paste, which gives it an amazing flavor.
