Khira podapitha/ Milk n rice cake,A quintessential pitha from Odisha. Craving for sweet but have run out of flour don't worry!!Here is the saviour  .It literally needs  3 simple ingredients Rice, Milk n Sugar and few green cardamoms which gives it a divine aroma. First make rice paste cooked in milk till it  forms like a paste  then it bake it in slow flame. The taste of this pitha is like a tender coconut. If you are lover of coconut n rice flavours ,then this pitha is for u .
Here's the recipe of this.

Method:-
1.Clean and soak the rice in water for atleast two hours. Then grind the rice with some water.
2.Boil  the milk on heater in a thick bottom container and Add one cup of sugar, salt and grated  coconut . Stir it well and wait for boiling.
( If anyone wants add nuts ,then add in.this step)
3. Then add the ground paste of  rice to boiled milk stirring simultaneously. Stir it properly till it becomes thick like paste.
4.Add the cardamom powder into it and stir again. Once the paste is done it is to keep aside till it is cold.
5.In a kadai, put some ghee n grease all around and pour the paste to make a form of cake. Decorate the thin coconut slices in top of this cake. Then Keep it in the slow flame and baked  it 30-40 minutes.
