An authentic odia style fish curry, cooked in mustard paste in mustard oil. I always preferred mustard oil to cook my native sides of recipe. Fish n mustard are match made in heaven.so if you are fish lover like me, then try this recipe. I am sure, you would love this.
Ingredients:-
Fish- 1/2 kg
Potatoes- 2
Tomato-1
White mustard seeds-7/8 tsp
Garlic- 5/6 pieces
Green chillies-2
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard oil
Panchaphutana-1/2 tsp
Water as per need
Method-
Clean the fish first, then marinate the fish with salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder for few minutes.
Heat a pan, fry the fish slowly n carefully, till both sides becomes reddish. keep aside.
Peel n cut the potatoes into long slices n fry till it becomes golden. keep aside
Make a smooth paste of mustard seeds, garlic n green chilies.
Heat oil, add  Panchaphutana let it splutter. add the mustard paste n chopped tomatoes into it. Put turmeric powder n chilli powder into it, fry it till oil separates from it. Then add fry potatoes and stir it for few minutes.
Add water as per your need, then put the heat in medium flame till the potatoes are cooked.
Now add fish into it and boil it for few minutes. Then switch off the heat.
Served with plain steamed rice.
